Moves in a match game that a player is claiming he didn't do?

Is it possible that your opponent can make a move for you in a match game so you'll end up losing the game? Well that's exactly what one of my members in my club is claiming.

Game 1.  30... Ra7   In this game my member is in Black pieces.

Game 2.  23. Rfd1   In this game my member is in white pieces.

What do you guys think happen?

I'll appreciate your inputs. Thanks!

those games are online daily matches here in chess.com.

I've had this happen to me on chess.com when there was severe lag.  Somehow, the mouse clicks gets lost or gets put on different squares.  In those games, you can see the pieces move into their positions very slowly (e.g. a pawn taking something like 10 secs to move diagonally to capture a piece; and during that time, if I were to move my mouse around, something weird usually happens on my next move).  It seems that some ads just suck up all the CPU and there's hardly any network activity during those cases... could the ads be mining on my poor little computer?  Who knows, but the result is random moves.

Even now, this issue still happens.  Most of the games, I can continue on, but once a while, I just lose too much to continue.  Here's a recent example of this problem:

chess.com is a great place to play because of the variety of players, but these issues make playing here difficult.

Do you know type of device he was using when this happened? Like laptop, pc, cell phone, etc.? I usually am playing on my iPhone and have had many times clicked on a piece to move then either accidentally brushed the screen with a part of my hand or the screen being so sensitive will make a premove that can't be undone.

@mgx9600

Thanks for sharing your experience... and it was a live game you had.

The games in question above are 3days/move standard match... so it's possible a computer glitch can happen on both instances?

But in the games above... both moves happened prior to member's logging in to make his move on his turn. 🤔

I'll check. Thanks.

I see.  That's very different than my experience (and many others).  It could have been a pre-move that's entered accidentally.
