Music and Chess? Does it help in anyway?

Hello chess.com. I am here to talk about a very strange concept. Music and Chess working together in harmony. There are many types of songs out there and many genre's of music. There is pop, jazz, hip hop, blues, rock, R&B etc... They say that music can help to change a person's emotions when they are young or even when they are older. They say that if an unborn baby hear's music playing outside that it somehow feeds into the development of that baby in some ways. I am not saying this is true or not so don't quote me on that. I am just stating what I have heard. What we are still studying today is how chess and music relate with one another. Does music change how a person plays their game or style of chess? Does it enhance the strength or does it make them grind to a hault? Does music have any developmental effect on someones game of chess? Give me your thoughts on this matter. I am curious. Yours Sincerely, LivingLifeForLove (LLFL)

I do not personally believe that the music baby thing is true, I do listen to music while I play tho, so mixed feelings. Sometimes it helps me, sometimes not.

It might also  depend on the type of music you are listening to. What type of music do you listen to that helps you win games?

Gives me willpower when I'm low, it also helps me focus, not sure if that helps me win directly, but that would be one cool report!

When I'm playing aggresive I am listening someone like Aeronsmith and when I'm playing sophisticated and some postional stuff I' listening classical music like Mozard so I quess it affects me....  Nope just kidding. But I believe it makes chess more fun and stops me from falling asleap.
