My journey to 1805 elo

I wanted to share my chess journey. I started playing July 2022 with rating 850. I didn't know every rule by then. Pins, en passant and so on. 

I made lot of blunders in start and didn't have any opening understanding.

But little by little I learned the opening principles and developed my game.

I have purchased many books, udemy courses and chessable courses.

Recent development has been thanks to opening tree website. I have seen my weakest variations on french defense(which I play black) and I have been developing my weaknesses.

Also Aimchess has let me know that eventhough my rating is 1805, my tactics are 1500-1600 level.

So right now I am focusing just on tactics. I have been using chessable and woodpecker method course By Axl Smith and Hans Tikkanen. about 1000 puzzles, but difference is that you repeat them many many times, so you learn them well. and each cycle you try to solve them faster.

I am exited about this course. I think I can improve lot of elo, mainly because the point that I have made it to 1805 elo rating, eventhough my tactics are at 1500-1600 level.

It took from me one year and five months to get from 850 to 1805.

I have played many games. Lost many annoying matches. But development has been stable.

I am just writing this because, I know that if you put lot of effort and work you can reach your goals finally. If I can do it, So can you. 

I am hoping to reach 2000 elo, during 2024 year. 195 points to go. Then I have a beer and might tap myself in head and say: good boy you reached your goals

Excellent progress my good friend Miika Saari, I remember when we met, I was randomly matched against you around august of this year (2023) if im not mistaken, I was playing drunk past midnight but they were epic games. I'm very honoured to have established a friendship with you, because we share many passions including the majestic game of Chess. 
I salute you from far away, and who knows how far this journey will take you, we might take guesses, but we can't know for sure.

well done, btw, bg5 in your last game that you won, on move 26, trapped the Queen, it has to take but is then forked, good luck for 2000 anyway
