I can't say for the person you're asking, but ratings ultimately aren't so important, but a large rating loss can be indicative of a problem in thought processes, calculation, or state of mind.
Having a concrete situation, like puzzles, to aid in the ability to calculate and recognize patterns, is useful, and the rating and rating changes are a metric to help gauge how one is doing and gauge where improvement may be needed.

PUZZLE max peak is 3800 why cant people just make it higher like 5000 or 4000 BUT HIGHER

and i think chess.com might have went too far with the rating. i think it should STOP at 2900 because highest player is 2800... and yea. i mean like NEVER MIND

ummm i just saw you can chnage your otb rating TO WHATEVER YOU WANT. MINE IS FIDE 3000!!!!!!
