My Puzzles Rating Dropped

The system was changed.

Some new update. Actually good, as Lichess's puzzle ratings aren't so inflated, like they should be not inflated. Plus when you start a puzzle on Lichess, and if you solve it, your rating goes up like in real games. This is actually a good change.

People always say they "worked very hard to get a high puzzle rating" but then never work hard enough to actually get good at chess lol
Like my puzzle rating was nearly double my playing rating which is roughly around 2050. Now my puzzle rating is 2300. Still higher than my playing rating but better than last time when I was 3800+ XD
Overall for someone like me who actually wants to improve I think this is a good change

#347 true, but some players worked hard with puzzles to improve their tactics and focused on puzzles. In short:some players played more puzzles than games

I had 2909 and now i droppe to 1909...-1000 elo points. My hours of work just gone...
Without these hours your new rating would be much lower than 1909

Everyones ratting dropped that said it was not even a rating , it was more like a points system when you get 56,000 it is not a rating its just points.
The only thing people lost was rank in ladders , the new system shuffeled the ladder , I went from 1st in two groups down to about 10 to 15 th , a few puzzels equalled things out again , those that gained on the ladder dropped back after a few attempts , I quickly went back up to the top , this is where accuracy counts , I am at % 77 , another group , it put me from 10th back to about 50th , I am already back at 19th , It is going to stabalize soon enough , no one has lost any hard work as claimed , ratings have just been corrected is all.
I like the challenge on a ladder but in the long run I am just trying to improve my tactics

I was 3003 and I suddenly dropped to 1914. Why? This was on 10Oct 2025, 8:30PM GMT+ Kolkata.
same happened to me, dropping over 1000 from 2915 to 1850 something. Checking our rankings, we are still in the 99.7% bracket, but I noticed from friends’ accounts that they have had no such reduction. One was 1600 ish, and remains 1600 ish. It seems to have only affected us triers

Everyone had their puzzle history re-rated and their puzzle history with the updated puzzle ratings. Some members at the lower levels likely saw an increase, as many of the lowest rated puzzles increased in rating. It's possible some members were actually pretty close already and didn't see any significant changes. A lot of members were vastly overrated and saw a decrease.

I too was at first surprised, even annoyed. But everybody's puzzle ratings went down. I believe more factors than simple percentages were taken into consideration. So really, there is little to complain about other than the suddenness, without clear prior warning decisions had been made.
Considering the difficulty, or lack thereof, the puzzles rating was clear: my rating was far too high. So in a sense the rating system previously seemed sort of arbitrary.
While fixing the rating is great, I think the rating should have been adjusted to the lifetime stat, rather than just having a drop of hundreds of points in the graph from one day to the next.
That was a release decision. It's possible it could change in the future. My guess is that was decided to make it obvious that there was a change and when it happened.
