do more puzzles!!!

You haven’t played in a while- I get the sense you are scared to lose more points. That happened to me a couple months back…I was close to 1600 but afraid I would just lose. I think it may just be a rating fluctuation. Just play a few games first and see how it goes.

From what I can see, you played only one match while at 1400+. If your ability level really matches 1400 you should be able to beat 1300 players with 75% certainty.

Playing when you're at 100%, staying healthy, and exercising should help

Yet I never got above 1396 on Blitz... but I hope someday I'll get to 1400 and even 1500, 1600

And I'm around the same levels on Bullet and Rapid

TimTianYu

yes puzzles are amazing at boosting in game accuracy

Challenging with 1500+ computer players can also help

Tried many times to beat Antonio (1500) and Isabel (1600), yet I got two draws in a row in the lattersurprise But I managed to beat Antonio two times

Anyone else win or lose in waves? It seems fairly often I'm either doing consistently well or can't win for losing. I love those winning streaks! Can't say I'm overly fond of losing a bunch of games in one day.....

I have that all the time, it's just this time, it's a mega losing streak

Yeah losing streaks really suck. This might help at least lift your spirits a little. There is a GM in my friends list and he is over 3000 in both bullet and blitz. Pretty impressive. Anyways I looked at his stats and he even had some losing streaks. I mean I guess it happens to us all but it sure ain't fun when it does.....

not that uplifting but I appreciate the effort

Hey, I once reached 860. Now I'm at 490. The reason I think is that I really don't care.

Ha!

I know the feeling. Look at all those red wedges in there!

BeeBoy213

that's a lot of draws you got there

I had shortcomings that I had to work on.

You know my puzzle rating is 999! I can’t even get above 1000 cause I used all my puzzles for the day :(

I was going thru a learning phase and my confidence was also shoddy therefore I was more apt to take draws then continue.

They we’re mostly tournaments games too so taking a draw was more of a positional strategy for the leaderboard.

I'm in the same boat. I had my meager 1220 waiting for 15 years, now its dropped nearly 90 points in the last two months. The reason it dropped was because I stopped playing in tournaments for 15 years. The more you play the more you lose. Hoping to get back on a winning streak, its not easy to do when your months away from 60 and playing kids so much younger who eat, sleep and drink chess 24-7. I wouldn't obsess over it, do your best and the rating will be what it is.

ATummyTickle

I find I plummet before I get better than before. You never know! I dropped from 1660 to 1390 in like a week. And now I'm touching 1800 soo... Who knows? Maybe it's the same for you?

Jalex13
I’ve dropped a ton of points in blitz and bullet several times…can’t say the same for rapid. It’s more consistent
Duck

The general idea for me is to stop playing after I lose 3 games in a row. It hurts but I know it's the best decision
