Chess.com is not permitted in many many schools across the world. That is why school aged children are not playing chess or discussing chess during the school day
at our school we cannot use our smartphones while on campus. so if students are not increasing the traffic or daily user activity on chess.com , then what is driving up the numbers so much? Take a guess... that unspoken "something" that goes unnamed on chess.com
Fun and emotional involvement improve learning and retention. The history teacher at my school made the subject a blast. I wish I had him - we had a choice between history and sociology and I chose sociology. And then I got to hear about this history teacher and his enthusiasm and daily challenges. If (in any subject) the teacher is bored, the students probably will be, too.
