OK boomer. I bet you can't multiply two numbers between 100 and 109 without a calculator like I can (something which wasn't the ever taught in school).
First off, not a boomer. Gen X.
Secondly, I most certainly can. Between 100 and 109? Easy!
107x103
3x7 is 21, put down the 1, carry the 2
3x0 is 0 plus 2 is 2
3 times 1 is 3. 321
Put down the 0. 0 times all numbers is 0
Put down 2 zeroes. 1 times 7 is 7. 1 times 0 is 0. 1 times 1 is 1. 10700
321 + 0 + 10700 is 11021
107 x 103 is 11021. What have you got next because you know I am right! Or do you need a calculator to verify?
The solution is simpler.
The first digit is 1.
Then you add the last digits.
Then you multiple the last digits.
Write this out as one number:
103 x 107
1, 10, 21 = 11,021
But notice your trick only works for numbers with 0 in the middle. My method works for any numbers of any length.
372x286
6x2 is 12, carry the 1
6 times 7 is 42 plus 1 is 43, carry the 4
6 times 3 is 18 plus 4 is 22. 2232
Put down the 0
8 times 2 is 16, carry the 1
8 times 7 is 56 plus 1 is 57, carry the 5
8 times 3 is 24 plus 5 is 29. 29760
Put down 2 zeroes.
2 times 2 is 4
2 times 7 is 14, carry the 1
2 times 3 is 6 plus 1 is 7. 74400
2232 + 29760 + 74400 is 106392
Bet your system does not work there!
It’s funny is that endgame sometimes posts completely understandable takes but then ruins it by posting the most moronic thing I’ve heard in a while
