for those of you who are wondering what i'm talking about read this http://www.chess.com/forum/view/livechess/standard-ratings-boost I should've gone to 2289, instead i went to 2089, why?

You will have to contact staff individually.

Just like those that got their points deducted.

+150 for <1600
+200 for 1600-1700
+300 for 1700-1800
+400 for 1800+
and
+500 for titled players

dunno, mine is messed up too. This whole rating change was COMPLETE TrASH. They tried to make the online ratings more accurate but what happened is the exact opposite. Now 1600 rated OTB players have 2400 ratings and an FM who has only played 3 (!) games is rated 2800. Thats a bad joke, really!

Do we have to ask to get our ratings inflated or whatever? Becuase I want in!

SocialPanda

Many people in the 1600-1800 range didn´t receive points. I saw around 8 in the same situation.

Haven't gained a point, either. :D

My live standard rating jumped - I guess if everyone jumps by the same amount then it's basically irrelevant - but I don't fully understand why there has been variation between different users - I heard that level of activity was a factor.  I think the general reason is that masters feel their chess.com rating is below their FIDE rating - although ultimately I don't see why that really matters.  ECF (English Chess Federation) ratings are only ever 3 digits at most, (2 in my case!), - so that at least that makes it obvious they are not comparable.  I remember Dan Heisman commenting that masters were underrated on chess.com because they tended to play each other mainly - so it was effectively a separate pool.  If this continues to be the case then the situation will probably recur.  The whole thing is vaguely unsettling though!  I keep getting matched with 1400s in live and having no idea whether I'm actually really higher rated.

It's jumped by rating. But yeah i submitted a ticket to the staff

Mine should have increased 200 points, but instead it went up 300 points! I have never had this trouble on ICC. I think there is far too little standard livechess being played on chess.com to have accurate ratings.

win84

mine was 1599, i went up to 1749, only if i was a point higher :(

patzermike

I don't see any point to changing the ratings. I am fine with the idea that a chess.com rating is different than a FIDE rating or a USCF rating just like a Canadian dollar is a different currency than a US dollar. What is the big deal?

astronomer999

I hope nobody had their rating tattooed on their forehead.

paluchasz

How does this work? I havent gone up at all

MSC157

Neither did I, palu.

One can only summize from the manner in how the extra ratings points have been allocated , that all the nice good members got an increase and those that didn't must be viewed as worthless scum that the site would be better off without.

lets just say they didn't make the cut.........

;-)

GreenCastleBlock

I didn't notice any increase at all in my Live Standard rating.

kiwi-inactive

I'm happy that my ratings have been boosted, whether by 10 or 400!

yucca

The whole point of a rating is to give an indication of playing level - if all are boosted in an inconsistent way then it's hard to compare chess.com ratings with chess.com ratings!  Whether they are comparable with FIDE or whatever is always going to be open for debate.

CP6033

K chess.com fixed it, i'm now 2316 standard
