Hello

Benjibass

I will report this if you seriously do not chill.

Former_mod_david

Please do not create new threads advertising the same group - bumping the existing thread is okay, but starting a new one is not.

It is okay to have a private religious club here on Chess.com irrespective of which religion and to advertise it in one thread in the public forums, but everyone please note - it is NOT okay to comment or discuss the religion itself (or any other religion) in the public forums - any such comments will be deleted and any repeated infringements will attract stronger sanctions.

Thanks,

David, moderator

He sees you when you're sleeping.

He knows when you're awake...

I'm amazed at the ignorance and Christophobia being displayed by some posters on this thread. We allow and even encourage other groups of like-minded people to gather (without mocking them), so why not this one?

Chess is the opposite of religion, it is logical. I hope the Mods lock this thread as religion is not allowed. They should know that competitive chess goes against some basic bible teachings.

The discussion of religion is not allowed in the main forums.  But to say "religion is not allowed" is incorrect.

Wait, wouldn't "turn the other cheek" mean you should give up pieces to your opponent for free?

Also, if you think that "chess is the opposite of religion" - or that Chess and Christianity have nothing to do with one another - take a careful look at your King and Bishops.

I don't think anyone is against Christians. Just seems odd and a bit exclusionary. For example its not hard to read that as "If your a Christian lets be friends! If your not...". Either way no biggie, whatever floats their boat (40 days and 40 nights I suppose wink.png).

These types of threads have taught me the following.

Religion is not allowed, unless its to attack, make fun of, mock, etc.

The OP is 3 months old, and my posts will probably get it locked as soon as mods come back from weekend vacation so it seems more that the opposite is true.

I'm so glad i don't report things anymore...

By the way I went to church every Sunday, and most Wednesdays as a kid. I went to a private Christian school that was >90% southern baptist. We had Bible class 5 days a week. I also had some religious schooling from the Catholic church, memorizing catechism and such, so I think it's pretty safe to assume I'm aware of the central message i.e. Jesus is God and died for humanity.
