Nelson's weakness..

The strength of nelson is early queen moves, but, because of g3, nelson cant move his queen early

Stickwarlegacy

ok

damientayjj

why need to move his queen early?

ShaanThebest

Because he is

damientayjj

are you sure???

olimicmons

He could simply do Qf6

damientayjj

why?

nelson usually play with  the queen but to defeat him i used to eat the queen by the queen so that no queens in the game then i play a normal game without queens usually at the end games with nelson i have a pawn and king but let the pawn go to a or h columns so that he will be upgraded to a queen and checkmate him

damientayjj

ok???....

So all you do is exchange queens with him and then he plays quietly

damientayjj

you mean like this?

or

???

if he play that, i would just play

as black

(this is a sample because i play scandinavian for black)

If he can work out the H o ratio, Nelson will win games.

Which one.

The Nelson bot has many weaknesses.

Early Queen moves being one of them.

His tendency to get his Queen trapped being another.

He also just hands you the center and a massive lead in development by allowing you to win time on his Queen.

His endgames are embarrassingly weak, even by my low standards, dropping would-be past pawns left and right.

It seems like bots at his level are programmed to give an example on how not to play.

Sven is too passive, Nelson doesn’t follow opening principles, etc.

Nelson is a good hurdle for beginners to overcome, but that is all.

or just play nf3 which does the same thing as g3 but doesnt waste a move for no reason

can someone explain to me why you all are coming up with ways to beat nelson? he isn't that good and just play the game normally to beat him

DasBurner

here.

i literally didnt didnt spend more than 5 seconds on a move once. he's so overprotective of his queen it hurts him (Nelson's white)

Yes, but for beginners he is considerably harder than the ones before (Sven). When I first started it was impossible to beat him. So what I am saying that he is very hard for new players compared to the ones before.

i understand but it is not going to help if we teach people simple "tricks" to beat an opponent. It would be much better to play with fundamentals and understanding.

Nelson was not too hard, just develop normally while he messes around with the queen. I am stuck on isabel now.

But early Q moves are bad, so you should allow them to do it!

But the reason they're bad is because they're easy to punish. If you just let the queen sit there, then they've just their best piece uncomfortably close to your lines.

LeanMaterial

Just get a early queen trade with Nelson and just trade off as soon as you have +1 material, works for me most of the time.
