For a single tournament, sure, sounds interesting.

I think it's just a fun idea that won't impact the chess community at all.

Well your OP is vauge to me.

Is 1 tournament "good for chess?"

I think it doesn't matters either way. But the way you phrase the options you make it sound like you're asking if we think this is a superior format.

If that's the question then I vote C because it's an inferior format.
