I just reported him. Doubt if Craig will be with us much longer...
They make you jump through a few hoops, but it takes less than 5 minutes.

The problem these days, actually, is the lack of standards for decency. You are free to have whatever disgusting life and disgusting thoughts you want, but stay the fuck out of my consciousness. That's the basis in society for standards of decency.
Here it is broken down in simplistic terms. CC is a business. For a business to survive and flourish advertising $ is essential. Advertising endorsement is garnered by membership totals (non-paying) and the amount of clicks on adds. This supplements the $ earned of paying members for extra services.
So, we are faced with inappropriate and offensive nicknames. (Myself, I immediately abort all games, not in the least interested in playing the likes of.) But what of the site? There are bots for everything nowadays. It would be a simple matter to exclude such nicks at registration. But this is self defeating when one priority is total membership numbers resulting in higher advertising $. Result ? Let such offensive nicks register, ban them, register again with another offensive nick and ban the fools again.
Everybody's happy, except for the decent folk who choose not to play such members. It comes down to an executive decision, made on up high regarding company policy and the course of action to be taken. IMO, it reflects poorly on the sites "image", but that's just me. Many people care less and even encourage such behavior as seen by post #4.
It has long been forgotten - Chess is a gentleman's game. Offensive nicks are tolerated because it's typical of online behavior, but would never be tolerated face to face in a playing room.
I think CC is overall a great site. Was a paying member for years. But I have chosen not to continue paying/supporting the site because of certain policies. This example, of offensive nicks being permitted, albeit briefly, is one of them. I am well aware it's a minority opinion, not taken as relevant by policy makers who have a bigger picture in mind. So they lose out on a few members who are offended by poor behavior that is briefly allowed. The poor behavior is seen not only in the forums - as the very same is seen in game play. I can't help but wonder of the long term consequences. Short term success is often seen through tinted glasses.
That guy is probably a middle school kid. I fear the future.
Most probable, is a "Kid" who has created 100's of such accounts.
Yeah, this site is great mostly but... there is a culture problem? Seem to be a lot of nasty attitude and... Chess used to be a rather elite, gentleman's club game, suit and tie? A lotta aggressive peoples here...
its such a selfish thing to do isn't it , to choose a nick that's offensive , cc is a site of all age ranges and cultures , why seek to offend ? chess is a great game built on respect for the opposing player with a handshake to begin and end and a respect for the players ability , the better the ability the better the game ,,, and this name goes against this ,
in fairness I think cc could ask the player to change the name before further action is taken , but that's upto cc and there tos but its not good for the game having thse type of pseudonyms .and I love chess so get angry at this kind of behavior too
Ultimately, this is where the codes of conduct save the day. These codes simply reflect the beliefs of the collective. So, while there's nothing wrong with that specific word used, if enough members report it as abusive, then a change should be considered, for the sake of the collective.
It's important to note that no organization should ever assume that it's code of conduct holds any power outside of the organization itself. But as for the organization itself, the beliefs of the collective must be considered. After all they are the constituents.
I was on vacation in St Lucia (west Indies) and at the grocery store they had boxes of cock soup! Mmm mm delicious!
Lol, there are parts of the world that endorse cock-fighting. That guy's username could be referring to their champion. A joke all too common, really. If the OP changed their username to RoosterChokin what should I say about it 😅.
Point is, you can't blame a sign-up page for that, you must report it. I've reported someone for a racially offensive username, and not only did that member get removed in a matter of hours, I also received a kind message from staff.
I just played a player with a very offensive user name . . This site allows this BS? I really just wanted to abort the game. I should have just refused to make a move. I am seriously considering going to another chess site
