Offering a game , make 2 moves and Log Off - the height of bad manners.
It's correspondence chess! I rarely make more than 1 move in the same game on the same day! Correspondence chess is meant to be slow. If you want to play a game in one sitting try live chess.
It's certainly not bad manners. Correspondence chess are meant to be that way.
When a open seek is made , time per move is also shown along with it. How can we expect them to play in one shot?
As ih8sens suggested, try Live chess!
If you're talking about correspondence chess, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Heck, making two moves in one day is loads for some people!
If you're talking about live chess, then your point is valid - it is frustrating when people request games they cannot finish. But it is sometimes unavoidable. However, if you are talking about live chess, then "No proverbial, Sherlock!"
I agree. Not everyone has time to play the games in one sitting. If you agree to a game that has 3days time allowed per move, you should be prepared for the opponent to take anything up to that amount of time per move.
I like to sucker poor n00bs into takeback games. After a dozen or so moves where I'm losing on purpose and they've got that false sense of hope, I take back every move and follow up by ROCKING OFF THEIR SOCKS.
Thank you for your views, as I am in the minority I stand corrected.
Thank you all and enjoy your Chess.
I agree with the majority, live chess is for fast games and the 3 day one is just a lot of fun, and gives time to do other things or even play other games. Sorry Colin , best regards.

I like to play a game to a conclusion in one sitting, or play for two hours and see where the game is. I find it so annoying that people ask for a game (Open Seek) and after a couple of moves log off. Why ask for a game when you know you cannot stay with it for a while. I am interested to hear other views.
If you prefer correspondence chess I would say maybe change your parameters to 1 day per move as opposed to 3 and your game will go alot faster, but to complain that your opponent is using up the allotted time is puzzling to me in correspondence chess. LIVE chess might be a better option if you want to start a game and continue to it's conclusion immediately.
