Barefoot_Player

Could you mean castling?

This is a legal move.

You might want to use the search words "castling", "chess" and "rules" in you browser

Hmm.. a player above 1400 who doesnt know what castling is? Just so that you know, castling is one of the oldest ways to cheat in the book. I'm glad you didn't let them pull a fast one on you. Make sure to give a phone call to a site moderater or find a chess engine that can cheat just as well.

Oh the trolling... the seventh move you ever made online was 7.0-0

Two wrongs don't make a right though.

Poor Andy has probably been gypped and cheated all his life. Welshed on, etc..

I agree with thread-starter, that the whole king/tower hoppy move thingy is crazy.  Sanctuary is a function of the church.  Therefore the king should sanctuary on either the queenside or kingside with either bishop, and the move should be recorded as an infinity symbol because of eternal life, and then no king shall ever die.  Then the players should just play to get 4 horsemen and annihilate the remainder of the pieces...that would be rapture chess***

wow, you guys really just need to learn how to play ok? its not that hard, just read the rules and get good.

However, I was recently at an OTB tournament where my opponent blatantly cheated. I was black, and as his pawn was on the 5th rank I knew I had to gain some space (i am a chees expert) so I advanced my pawn next to his two squares AND HE MOVED HIS PAWN DIAGONALLY TO THE SIXTH RANK BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THERE AND TOOK MY PAWN OFF THE BOARD! i asked what he was doing and he said some spanish word or something so i told him to speak american and he laughed. So I called the director guy and told him my opponent was cheating but the director guy said he wasnt so i yelled that the director guy was getting paid off by my opponent and flipped the table over and told the director guy i would sue him bad and ran away. the end.

The FIDE handbook contradicts itself. It states (4.1) that each move must be made with one hand only. But just try performing castling (which is a move) with one hand. Can't be done. Must use both hands.

wat most of u don't realise is that there is a minimum hand span required for playing chess, precisely for castling.  u grab the king with ur pointer and thumb; and the tower with ur pinky and ringer although u risk pointing ur middler at the opponent.  then u twirl ur wrist and there u have it - a dislocated wrist or castling properly executed.  patzers ...

Spot on. This is why there is an initiative to set the minimum age of a player with FIDE ranking at 14. Younger kids don't have the requisite hand span.

 Awesome post!

OK sorry folks, somebody let Clifton out of his cage again.  This always happens whenever I start running low on Thorazine...

Thanks for this thread !!! I'm having a big problem in my games ( NO, besides the fact that I'm one of the two players  lol ). Whenever I'm busy getting my wall of pawns set up to block the other player along comes one of his Horsey pieces and just jumps over my pawns ! What is up with that ? These Horsey things seem to think that they are in the Olympics or something. I'm going to write directly to the FIDE head office. Enough is Enough !!!

You can get weighted knights, can't ya'?

[Edit:  I mean "horsies".]

lol...and indeed they even know a thing or two about chess (Mr Ed after all answered a radio-quiz question about the 1964 Interzonal on one episode...I mean, when's the last time you heard a horse say "Spassky"?).
