How can a teacher teach a student if all the knowledge comes from within that student?

Jack Collins had the same problems when he took under guidance the eleven years old Bobby Fischer. He couldn't teach him anything as he did with the Byrne brothers because he realized that his level of understanding is bigger. After they sited couple a games against each other, Jack Collins never bothered to show anything again to Fischer.

After 1972 , some journalists asked Fischer questions about his young age and what he learned from his mentors. " Jack Collins teach me nothing " was the answer.
