Making aggressive decisions without also considering safety is foolish, but avoiding aggressive decisions is also foolish.

That's true in chess, stock market investing, real estate, planning treks into the mountains, cruising out on Chesapeake Bay, etc. etc.

I agree with you. We need to dominate our fears. I find that I will usually avoid tactical fights just because I am afraid. It then turns out I was winning the tactical fight...

If you're interested in truth, you have to be critical of ideas you find attractive. An idea that hasn't been tempered by the fire of criticism is worth nothing.
