Are the players active? That's what I imagine would be the most difficult part of making the whole thing work!! User engagement. If they are active, consider tournaments on different days at different time controls. Consider asking a stronger player to provide some lessons via zoom or Skype that members can sign into.

What is/was your favorite part about having an online chess community?
I started a chess club at work. it started out as just me and a couple of other buddies, but now people from outside our group are joining. everyone in the company is remote btw. anyway, I'm the admin and my friends don't really message on it anymore. I'd hate to kill the chess community at my work so I'm trying to get some ideas to make it great!
