Organic Chess

I just wanted to share a quick study idea. I find a fun way to practice calculation is to randomly hit the forum boards and just click on a profile name, then head to their game list. What I like to do is copy the position down and just analyse for each side. This is a good way to accomplish what I like to refer to as organic chess. Since the majority of us here are amateur players, we can certainly come up with some crazy positions! I find that it is a good way to get out of rote openings and get a fresh look on chess. Since the games are alien to you, you can get a unique perspective on the position. In pursuing a way to understand these positions, we can grow our chess skill because we have to subconsiously seek out the chess tools, the chess truth, that will help us disect these positions. Give this idea a try, it can be very awakening!

Interesting idea!

It might make sense to do it for players around your skill-level. Or at least to avoid positions that are obvious wins.
