OTB Chess or Online Chess

If you have nearby chess clubs, would you still play online chess? Playing another player face to face looks more fun to me. The disadvantages are I have to do one thing at a time, play one game at a time. I can play many games and do other things while playing online (turn-based) games. And won't inhale second hand smoke too . My choice... Online chess.

well, i play online cause i don't really have a decent chess club within a 40 minute drive, so having internet lets me play whatever skill level i want, on the other hand if you have a chess club nearby, that is good, go to it! it is a  good thing to be in.

I have 2 competing chess clubs that wont cooperate and are intent on driving each other out of business.

Ubik, why can"t they just have interclub matches? 

Sure, I play both computer live chess as well as OTB chess.

Yes making real friends is nice. This is the best reason for playing otb chess. Saying gg and shaking hands. And a few drinks after the game could be much nicer.
