What if your USCF rating?
OTB tournament
1. No need for an opening rep. Games at your level are decided by blunders and missed tactics. Whatever opening you decide to play just learn some basic understanding of the "why" behind the moves. Why do the pieces go where they go? Why do the pawns go where they go? DO NOT just memorize moves. This teaches you nothing.
2. Study tactics.
3. Only use an engine to check for missed tactics and blunders.
4. DO NOT play speed chess. This instills bad habits, doesn't give you time to think, and just causes you to move fast.
Hello chess friends:
After few years playing OTB tournament, have 3 months to prepare.
As you can see: Low rating, no opening repertoire, poor middlegame and endgame knowledge. What you guys recommend me to do these 3 months? Thanks for a great community and your support
