OTB visualisation

After playing chess online for a while I recently began playing OTB as well, and found my board visualization noticeably worse OTB compared to online. I understand this is very typical. My question is to those who have experienced something similar: how long did it take before you stopped noticing a difference? It might also be helpful to know how much OTB time you were clocking, say per week?

When I was playing OTB once a week it was enough that I didn't notice a difference in my ability to visualize online vs OTB.

But if you're new to it, maybe solve a few puzzles on a board every day until it starts to feel more comfortable.

I went the other route. I played OTB (in tournaments from 1969 onward) for more than thirty years before I finally started playing online. It wasn't too difficult to adjust, because the online board looks much like a diagram in a chess book.

Some grand masters USE a digital chess board.

I had the same problem. I think it took me 2 to 3 classical tournaments to fully adjust. (I mean 7 to 9 game tournaments)

If you use a board (or two) to analyze your games and to study master games, switching between online to OTB will be easier
