In an over-the-board game,  what piece is used for the promoted pawn to queen when a player now has more than one queen on the board? TIA.

Most sets come with an extra queen, so a queen would be used. Sometimes an upside down rook is used to represent a queen but should never be done in a FIDE rated game as that's a rook

If you're playing rated Chess, you really should try to find extra queens if you need more that what's in your set.

Thanks for the info. I only play online chess and sometimes have more than one queen and was just wondering how that would be handled in an over-the-board game.
