People on chess.com everyday

If you are engaged at least 5 of the following activities:

  1. Logging on to chess.com everyday (or very frequently),
  2. Checking and reading new and interesting forum threads,
  3. Joining/Playing on a Vote Chess team (by the way, the Endgame Experts won their match [go team]),
  4. Logging into Live Chess and playing at least 30 minutes of chess,
  5. Being frustrated during a 3-loss streak of 1 minute games,
  6. Silently gloating as your opponent gets frustrated during their 3-loss streak,
  7. Solving the daily puzzle (optional: trying to get first post),
  8. Doing your rounds on the Tactics Trainer (non-members only get 3 *sadface*),
  9. Currently playing/Have played in a tournament,
  10. Or, posting new forum topics,

then you just might be addicted to chess.com.

Symptoms of being addicted to chess.com are, but not limited to:

  • having a tendency to stray from whatever you are doing online, and logging on to chess.com,
  • having periodical desires to play chess,
  • and nausea/upset stomach/diharrea

If you think you are addicted to chess.com, you should not go see your doctor, but rather post on this thread. There is no absolute cure for addiction to chess.com, but no one will judge you for having said addiction. Remember, it's only a problem if you believe it's a problem.

If you have determined that you are in fact addicted to chess.com, here's a nice little puzzle, the end of the Opening Experts Vs. Endgame Experts Vote Chess game. It's relatively easy.

I refuse to believe it - I must be in denial =P

I am one who logs in every day, or at least most...

But I can stop any time I want!

PS... Thankfully, I have yet to experience nausea/upset stomach/diharrea from my time on chess.com... Hives are a different issue...

There is more than one winning move: I found a different solution. Among problemicists, that's called a cook.

I think that means that you are addicted as well ;-)

Hmmm, I have more than five of those.  Addiction...maybe.  Problem...no.  Smile
