Also called the Russian Game: i'm playing black. On my 11th move, which side should i castle on for best play and why? (sorry, don't know how to post an actual board) i've heard that the great champion Karpov used this defense as black. WWKD?

1. e4 e5

2. Nf3 Nf6

3. Nxe5 d6

4. Nf3 Nxe4

5. Qe2 Qe7

6. Nc3 Nxc3

7. dxc3 Qxe2+

8. Bxe2 Nc6

9. O-O Bg4

10. Bf4 Be7

Yes, the man's original name was Alexander Petrov. Most would go 0-0, but doesn't 0-0-0 look good and well protected? i'm not qualified to answer though...what say ye, 1800+ players?

Both look playable. You could even consider keeping your king in the center (Kd7) as this is already an endgame.
