For the 1 Day Games, is it possible to set up a position and invite people to play the rest of game from there?
This would of course be unrated.

There are theme tournament which set up a certain number of moves. I think they are rated.

You can create a daily challenge starting from a specific position with a web browser, not an app.

Use the analysis board to get the FEN string of the starting position.

Then create a custom challenge with the game type of FEN.

You can also select standard book openings from a drop down list.

I think you are in live chess. The FEN option is only supported for daily chess.
