No one is "forcing" you to wait. Grab a book, go to the bathroom, grab a snack, get a drink of water, clip your toe nails...
Please don't be rude. Play on or resign.

Don't you know it's lonely at the top?
No clue...im no where near the top :-)
That's good for you. I've made some accomplishments of my own. However I guess I'm alone. GOD has given me many gifts and I appreciate what GOD has given me.
Excactly! I have been blessed with the ability to play this game a decently proficient level, and explaining it in a way that makes it easy to teach.

Can two games be played at once? Say, in another window? Please be gentle, as I am a newbie. Your suggestions are helpful, Diakonia, but I bought my platinum membership to play chess -- not to do my nails.
You see, the problem is that sometimes I cannot wait (mainly for health reasons). If I leave the game, I might lose because my opponent really is thinking through lines, looking for a prayer.
Please forgive me if I come across as belligerent. That is not my intention. Clicking the "Resign" button is very simple and gentlemanly.

No need to apologize, and i dont take your post as being beligerent. My apologiesfor your health issue, and hope you get better. Yes you can play multiple games at once.
When youre in live chess:
1. Click on Graph Options.
2. Click on Play.
3. Check the Multiplay box.

If sometimes you can't wait out the duration of the game because of health problems (or whatever else) then you would lose that game anyway. What difference does it make if your opponent is there or not?
Also, you're not a platinum member, you're an even better paying member! Yes that's picky of me, sorry.

OMG you're right you can play multiple games! Why is that not made clear? Why can't you see that setting option unless you're in the live section of the website? I never even knew that options menu existed!

Or....just live with it.
Yes, we just have to accept that sometimes, not all players we meet are considerate

Stop crying.
As a hero, you should save him.
Welcome back!

As a hero, you should save him.
Does changing a mod's comment mean quoting him and sneakily editing the quote? Or something more? I'm curious, thanks.

Just here to help! :-)

All you need to know is that it gets you muted. But here, I'll explain - if a mod edits your comment, you can edit their edit of your comment as well. I edited CrystalMoon's comment to "stop overloading me with work".

I will bless the site as soon as NKT73 leaves.
On the other hand, I've seen people crying after the unmuting.
When your position is hopeless, I don't mind if you play on, hoping for a miracle. Sometimes, people win lost positions. But please don't just abandon the game with more than 20 minutes left on your clock. That forces me to wait until you time-out,
That's just plain rude on your part. It isn't my fault that I gave thought to my moves while you played a careless quick game of worthless rook-pawn moves, hanging pieces, and an early endangered Queen.
Thank you.
