Pogchamps 3 is cringe

pogchamps was always cringe, such a stupid concept. So desparately trying to grasp anything they can with this boom in chess popularity(caused by xqc)

shit like this makes me vomit, giving platform to a bunch of zoomer patzers just because they have pull with the young and hip crowd...

Are you twelve or something? It's a fun event for people to promote Chess. I don't personally like it either and haven't ever watched it but it seems like a good idea.
I dont know anything about CodeMiko but if she's like this, Im skipping all her games:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttSsMlE4fiA
It's a chess tournament for popular streamers / internet celebrities / etc. They are all new to chess so ratings are low. The 3rd instalment starts today.
There's a calendar at https://www.chess.com/tv if you scroll down

I tend to agree. The quality of most games is low, but that's ok. It's still fun to watch. I'm interested in how well Daniel Negreanu plays.

I don't personally enjoy Pogchamps, but if it brings more people into the chess community, then it has to be a good thing.

Pogchamps is a bit cringe but I get what chess.com is trying to do: they’re trying to promote chess among the gaming community
+1, completely agree.

There's nothing wrong with introducing people to chess. Everyone starts somewhere, complaining about the skill level of beginners is pointless also since no one cares if you watch or not. The cringe part is complaining about something that doesn't affect you at all.

I dont know anything about CodeMiko but if she's like this, Im skipping all her games:
this is unwatchable.
pogchamps was really fun and instructive for me when i was around the participants rating.
especially following the process hafu went through .
i hope they can recreate that. i don't watch any non chess related streams and dont know any of the new participants but by now i dont see anyone taking this as seriously and competitively as hafu did.
but still i think its great for chess.

Keep an eye out for the favorite to win , french streamer Sardoche. He plays dozens of rapid games a day. Just recently did a 24hour chess stream earlier this week. Even just looking at today he has played 50 rapid games and is still playing chess on stream.

Pogchamps is great for chess. It spreads chess to a new audience. I personally like watching the games because anything can happen, If a GM is up a pawn against another GM I know they're probably going to win. It's spreading chess to a new audience and its fun to watch a tournament between beginners in my opinion. Sometimes its cringe but i don't see the problem. We don't have to be so elitist about chess. Chess is really blowing up right now and we should respond to this well because it's great that a game we love is enjoying this much popularity.
