Ponz Says He Can Refute Ponziani!

Ponz you should know that 1random showed me the game he aborted with you to get me to let him into the group, and then had access to our analysis.  I just think you should know what a manipulator he is; I've banned him permanently:

blumzovitch you are a trouble maker.

For those interested here is the way two of the main lines are going now:

The_Worstiest

Bluebird, which is the point of 12.Qa6? I would prefer simply 12.Na3 developing a new piece.

Remellion

The way I see it, 12. Qa6 guards d3 (and redeploys the queen.) 12. Na3 guards c2 (and develops.) Both address black's potential invasion.

Dude, a game is being played in that line...

LoekBergman

What against 12... e4? Opening the centre for black.

Black also played e4 after your 12.Qa6.

The_Worstiest

He then played c5 in another game in this same line againist JMB2010.

My game with 1 random was a comedy of errors.  first he made a move he did not wish to make so he resigned and we started another.

then I was going to play a move vs JMB and made the move and it did not take [so I thought]  I am not used to these boards being together.

Actually the move did take but I did not know I was on another gzme

so I resigned my game vs 1 random so we both can continue the real game.

We each resigned to each other but now will continue.

Hope this makes sense. I have not played in this format before with 6 games together.

The_Worstiest

So, do you resigned on purpose or made a wrong move ponz?

johnsmith1928

good stuff!

ponz111

I am not used to 6 diagrams togehter.  acutally I wanted to make a certain move and made it but it looked like it did not "take"  so I made the move again not realizing it had moved to another game  and then I did it against with bluebird.  So I have ro resign those two games and then make the move I meant to play.

These games are similar and I did not realize when you make a move it authomatically goes to next game.

Yes but after 13. Nd4 we believe white is better?

13... Ng4 and black threatens to come to f2 with the queen.

ponz111

The purpose of this was to see if I could come up with better theory.

That is why I hope and presume bluebird will let me correct the one move. I resigned to him.

I had not experience with this set up and so this happened.  My bad.

johnsmith1928

sorry to hear about all the technical problems =). just restart the games from the ponziani position. there's a feature for that.

ponz111

I will have to admit playing 5 or 6 games and all the positions are similar and not realizing when I make a move it switches to the next game is and was disconcerting.  [In other workds I hate this swtich feature]

Hopefully I will not make the same kind of mistake twice so we can have a useful theoretical discussion of this line. Fraser Defense and please do not forget Bill Wall who has played this for years.

Ponz, if you don't want the system to automatically go to the next game after you move, you can adjust your settings. Click on home / account / online chess settings / move preferences / after moving – and change using the drop-down box. Then scroll to the bottom and save settings.

Have to say that looks like a good line for white. It is still a sharp game in which white has officially a little surplus of material, but black has imo a better pawn structure and safer king position. I think that it will be difficult for white to bring his material into play.

If I was black I would look to start playing the centre pawns. D5 would be my next move. First of all to prevent Qc4, but also to have a variant like Nc3 Qe5 and black has the thread of d4 at his disposal. If that pawn is coming at d3 then can it break the diagonal f1 - a6.

You can turn off the ''go to next game after move'' feature at Online chess-Settings-Move preferences!! ;)
