Two similar-looking positions may not be similar at all, and this applies here.
In the normal London line where white (wrongly) swaps queens at b6, white has a kinght at f3 and the second one at b1. This means he cannot prevent the ...b5-b4 pawn advance, so Black has a nice initiative.
Here, the g1 knight is at home, and the other one at d2 already. This means that white could (and should) play 9.a3 (instead of 9.Be2), and meet ...b5 with Rc1 stopping ...b4 for good, when he has some advantage.
