Post Game Analysis

I have recently returned to tournament play after decades of absence. At that time, it was most common to analyze the game with your opponent afterwards. Now, we have computers that are far more accurate and quicker rendering the traditional post mortem an almost complete waste of time.

Does anyone still analyze with their opponent after the game or is it an extinct practice?

I've always been of the impression that discussing strategical ideas with your opponent afterwards is better than just getting a tactical printoff at home from an engine (which is still nice to look at).

I think these discussions help a player much more in their ability to think and comprehend, and that computers too easily ''expect'' that comprehension.

Good question :)
