cc premoves are better
Premove implementations
On the side where the moves are listed you go back a move and it cancels the premove (although you have to go ahead to the current position after you do that)
how do i cancel a premove? clicking on an empty square doesn't really do the job :/
if you're on a computer you just need to right-click.

yeah i play on my phone so i wouldn't really know that, but thanks
ah okay
I assume that you're using the website rather than the app? If so then @AlbAmChess's suggestion is best
Premoves are good, but only use them if that move is forced. I made a premove yesterday, where I thought my opponent was going to take my pawn using the en passant method, but he didn't. Thankfully, he didn't take the free rook.

Premoves are good in the opening

if you are playing on mobile, it is pretty hard to cancel a premove. The app can't have as many features as a computer due to how big the screen is and how many buttons you can press.
If I had like 0.3 seconds against 3 minutes but an easy premoved mate that takes 4 moves, I would be pretty pissed after chess.com declares a loss while the other way would declare a win.
You wouldn't be able to do it the second way either though since you can't chain premove, so you could premove one move ahead in the mate, but if your opponent is also premoving you're going to lose anyway. Chess.com premoves are more fair, and are more practical with allowing premoving several moves ahead for sequences like forced mates and such.
