pressure

Since playing online chess, I have been struck by how many games are won or lost because of an outright blunder.

Sometimes, me or my opponent blunder when we have a winning position or at least an advantage, but usually it is because the pressure causes one to crack.

I continue to be staggard when I look at the post match computer analysis of the number of inaccuracies, mistakes and blunders. I also find many games, usually against an opponent who is applying pressure, where I struggle to find the best move.

I am enjoying my time in chess.com but clearly I have a long way to go!

Yes.  I'm with you on this.  I guess it's the time that throws me.  Not being a very quick player, it is invariably me that is behind on time.  Result: panic....
