CM is easy to get 2200.
IM is harder 2300
GM takes a lot of work, 2500 and norms.
Yeah, a 2200 FIDE rating is easy.
What is FIDE rating?
Your blitz rating or bullet
I saw today 1800 have a CM title how guys?
Depends. If the 1800 is the FIDE rating it's likely from an automatic title gained from a specific event that awards them.
I recently got CM title, and its on USCF though. Could we use it on our profile, or is it only fide ratings that count.
TO get a cm title you need to be least 2200 and have a consistent performance of 2200 in over the table fide games. To get an over the table fide rating you need to participate in at least 25 over the table games and also be enrolled in your country's national federation of chess. Then, once you can demonstrate a consistent 2200+ performance at a tournament or another chess event, most likely your national federation will apply for the cm title. So all you're missing is to get enrolled and participate in a tournament.
in South Africa if you win the junior national closed tournament in your age group you get awarded the CM title...so its not uncommon for us to have 1400 rated CMs here...dont think its a FIDE title though
They really need to update this policy imo.
Someone who legitimately reaches 2199 FIDE misses out on a CM title, but some random 13 year old kid with a 1300 FIDE rating who wins an under 14s section of a random OTB tournament gets the title and can play Titled Tuesday on this site?!
