psychology question, do you perform better at night or in the day?

I usually play my best chess in weekends after a heavy lunch and taking a nap happy.png. So it's usually evening till late nights. But I've realized one thing, considering how adaptive the brain is, I don't blunder that much what I used to even if sleep deprived weekdays.

I prefer night time play to avoid interference with family @home. Chess does require undivided attention ♟️ 👀

Chess is like poetry in motion,, you cannot write a successful poem while being distracted, so my day time games are usually blunders far too many oppose to night time undivided & un-interupted attention while scripting my favorite poem - chess

I rarely even try to play in the daytime - as others noted, too many distractions. Once my children are in bed, spouse is reading or going to bed, and my phone is turned off, I can focus more undividedly on chess.

I perform best after 8 hours of sleep - no matter when. But it is almost never early in the morning...

I swear yall i'm trash at night, i casually got 95% accuracy in a 27 mover, rapid, and i now lost 50 free points of rating because i wanted to have a few rapid games and i got 30%, i just cannot focus at night i'm half asleep and i make silly blunders convinced i did the best move, i'm simply not sharp enough at night
