Push notifications in android?
The Android app does have notifications and I believe they are on by default.
I haven't turned them off AFAIK but I'll double check.
Sometimes, I get notifications about "start in 30 seconds" or something, but certainly nothing along the lines of "You have 1 turn waiting"
Sorry to bump this, but I definitely doubled checked all my settings and there is no way that if an opponent makes a move, there is a push notification.
Should I re-install the app?
So, Settings > General > Notifications is set to Enable and you're not receiving anything?
Nothing when someone ends a turn no. I have Wi-Fi and 3G enabled yet nothing. This also happens (or doesn't I suppose) while the phone is in active use with another app (say YouTube or Steam).
I turned off my notifications for the app a while back, but I was getting move notifications.
Maybe that's what I should do -___-
If I wasn't clear, I was getting the notifications before turning them off.
Oh okay lucky.
Today I beat my friend Shikhar [finally! ... YES!] and I told it to do an analysis, of which, I got a notification saying it was complete.
So I am getting some notifications but honestly, I don't particularly care to get such notification about a completion of the analysis. I just want when it is my turn, to have a notification, or an auto-updating function like on PC browsers.
You've stay logged in to get notified.
Oh okay in that case, I do get notifications ... but not PUSH notifications.
I really want push notifications ( the ones that pop up at the top of your screen).
I think notifications on the android app are just broken. I've timed out of tournament games because I never got a notification that they had started. I do usually get them but not always. I've had to get in a habit of opening the app and checking to be sure because the push notifications can't be trusted.
Salutations all! I'm probably just thick but I would love to have push notifications when it's my turn to make a move, which really helps with multitasking, and just general convenience. Thanks for reading
