Puzzle Problem Explained

Can anybody help me more with this puzzle problem today? Just to LMK as a reminder.

In this position, I played Qd5+, realising that this winning position would resulted in a victory in awhile. However, chess.com determined that my solution is incorrect, and I played d7 again, then only that solution is the correct one.

IDK why d7 is a much better move than Qd5+ in this position. Explain this fully with your own general ideas and explanations. The first to comment below will receive a new daily challenge!

I don't want a challenge, but d7 is forcing. Black either has to give up a knight for the pawn or white will promote.
