Queen dependent

I am finding that alot of players are "queen dependent", you capture their queen, they either resign or don't know how to play. Because I make dumb moves and lose my queen quite frequently lol, I've learned to play without the queen, so I'll always sacrifice mine for theirs, especially a stronger opponent. Does anyone else do this?  Have fun all

I think you are confusing "losing" (or "sacrificing") your queen to "exchanging" it ... losing your queen without compensation is a reason for resigning in most cases, at least in everything slower than blitz if your opponent isn't in big time trouble (or you have a forced mate with your other pieces).

If you "sacrifice your queen for theirs", it's an exchange, not a loss/sacrifice, so you're still even with your opponent as far as material is concerned ... yes, some players like to avoid queen exchange as they feel they don't play well without it, other players (like me) like the queen exchange as they feel more comfortable if this dangerous piece of their opponent is off the board ... it's a matter of personal style, just like one's opening choice, and objectively one should of course exchange his queen exactly then when it gets them an advantage (for example an advantageous or "won" endgame).

Well, I've too noticed that most players (especially lower rated) are afraid to exchange queen for 2 rooks or 3 minors, and sometimes even a queen for queen. On the other hand, it's most effective piece to attack with, so it's not clever to exchange it when you've an attack.

I was the opposite. Back when I was noob, my game plan was the following:

  1. Pray that my opponent would make a serious mistake.
  2. Pray that I could trade queens somehow.
  3. Win. I was surprisingly good at it.

I would consider a Queen exchange that forces them to take with their King (and forego castling) a good move. And against players who overuse their Queen (multiple early Queen moves instead of developing other pieces) I like to trade Queens and continue on in a much better position.

Thanks all, but i've noticed that stronger players too. Im 901 rated, was playing a player rated 1159, his queen started raising hell, he challenged me to exchange queens, when i did he resigned. AND HE WAS WINNING  LOL

I noticed when we played, you sacrificed your queen most wantonly. I believe you could have held a stronger game if, instead of throwing her away, you utilized her. Maybe just keep her focus on protecting you from their queen.
