My first ever successful queen trap. I'm so pleased with myself that I just thought I should share it. Too bad my opponent's second move was a bit of a blunder, so it sort of makes my queen trap less exciting.

I don't understand how White's second move was a blunder though?

From what I understand, its useless. You're supposed to move the other knight to threaten Black's e pawn.

That's what most people prefer to do, including me, but its not necessary. Different openings have different merits. 2.Nc3 is an reasonable move. Your opponent was attempting to play an opening known as the Vienna Game.

The Vienna game is actually quite good if you understand it. Greg Hjorth (Aussie master from the early eighties) played it very well.

I do feel sorry for your opponent. The old pawn to F4 and then get smashed!
