queen wipe out

Many times I've played blitz and my opponent will bring out their queen almost straight away and clean out my material.  How can this be stopped?   Below is a recent game that this happened.  I played black and was going to play Sicilian.

It's the worst because I know that it's bad play, but I am not adept enough to turn it to my advantage and this is how these players get away with it.

Play 2 e6 followed by N-f6 chasing the Queen away with tempo.

cool, thanks

Do you expect anyone to read down that long string of stuff with a little board nearby?

A rampaging queen is quite easy to deal with. Remember she is easy to threaten. If you ddevelop with threats you end up with lots of extra tempo.

You've only given one example...and the Queen isn't in-and-of-itself the issue here.

The issue is the blunder. The threat QxR is obvious and 3.... Nc6?? does not counter it.

If you stuck to the general opening rule of Knights out first, you'd have played 2. ... Nf6 instead of 2. ... g6 and all would be right with the world. If QxP, NxP and you have a center pawn for a non-center pawn.

So...all I can suggest is play a slower time limit, or practise, practise, practise. Bringing the Q out on move 2 is a mistake in any form of chess, you should generally be happy to see it because it means your opponent is playing badly.

DrSpudnik

Well, now that I see it, it's awful.

How do you think you'd play against someone who puts up a minimal defense?

UlyssesCBlack

I see.  That helps.
