Random Move Generator
Updated: March 5, 2025
It seems that I wouldn't be able to share a file because I don't have subscription in WPS... But I will give you a hint on how I made a file...
I made a file with 625 best move on 2 move each from White and Black, (5^4)
Then I made a scoresheet on those moves
From those scoresheet, I program it to search the best move by incorporating the Monte Carlo Tree Search formula multiplied by a random number (expected win of of a random elo)...
And voila, you have the Random Move Generator...
no it is just a spreadsheet... It is a scoresheet that have MCTS... I share the file with the link...
It is the same with artificial intelligence where it can search moves on their own but only for 2 moves... It is just a scoresheet with the same MCTS formula... The downside is, it only have 4 depth and the roll out can just be carried out based on the result in your games... You can then register the result on the scoresheet...
In terms of searching which moves is good, it has the same principle with alpha zero because they have the same formula but alpha zero is more superior because it have a whole list of moves up to the end of the game and it is faster to do a roll out whereas this file only have the moves in the beginning and humans are slower...
It might be good if I can write a code that could list a all of your moves up to the end of your game but I don't know how to do so...
I also multiplied all numbers to a random number because I get bored easily playing the same opening on this game but the principle is still the same... The only thing that change is you can have the novelty of playing new moves...
Note: The best move recommended by the file is the moves that you have the high percentage or a search for novelty based on both the MCTS formula and the data on your scoresheet... Thus, it is a balance between exploitation and exploration of moves which is the same with alpha zero... But the only difference is this file depends on the human touch...
Sorry, I forgot that alpha zero is more superior because it has neural network but they still have the same MCTS formula...
