Why are some rapid ratings (like mine) three digits and some are four digits?

Why does 2351 have four digits and 692 has only three?

Because 2351 is a bigger number than 692.

Maybe Putin was right...............

I'm serious. I'm new here and just play rapid in the Intermediate class and everyone one I play is three digit rated. A friend who plays here is ~1600 rapid and I know I can beat him (Not on here).

I hadn't played for 40 years and joined here to become reacquainted and chose "Beginner." I quickly changed to "Intermediate" because I was getting rating points too easily and wasn't doing myself any good..

You'll find that ratings on this site aren't all that accurate, for a number of reasons.

I was around 2000 over-the-board (I've played in both FIDE-rated and CFC-rated events) and reached 2351 here.

Also, it's very common to be strong in one format (Rapid perhaps) but much weaker in another (maybe Bullet).

I only play rapid Bue (around 15/10 - 20/5). I can't compete any faster with all the 'kids" here, I'm too old for that!

We demand that it be 0692

Then what's the difference between my current rating of 714 vs. 1700? I just don't understand the different tiers of rating classes.
