can anybobody explain to me why my rating is affected when a draw  was agreed. i have a higher rating with my opponent. the lower rated player will be given additional rating and the higher rated plater  will be deducted a points as if he losses the game. . is the system fair  enough. . i dont know chess ruling ,can anyone explain it to me. thanks and im sorry for my being innocent on this matter.

You have a higher rating. That means that the chance of winning is higher. a draw against a lower rated player is seen as a good thing for the lower rated player who was expected to lose.  It is seen as a bad thing for the good player and therefore your rating decreases. When you play somebody of exact your rating a draw would neither player give any points.

thank you for the comment. but it seem to be just for his/her low rating you expect him to lose  to a higher rating. in the philippines so many players dont have rating coz they dont play in the tournament . but tell you a master caliber.

and to add to my comment. underestimating the capacity of a lower rated player is not healthy. in chess.com we started playing 1200.
