It would be interesting to analyse the motivation of trolls. I think some cheaters can be regarded as trolls. Like trolls they want to break rules, to provoke, to disturb, to draw the attention, to be original. One of the man features of trolls is lack of empathy, and a huge egocentrism.

I know a guy, nice person, good tennis player and also able to play chess. I saw a video if him where he was at a street, and while cars where waiting for him to cross he began to bouncing a ball like a tennis player preparing to make a service, with the racket in the hand. I had immediately to think on trolls.

I don't know if you've ever had a friend who speaks English as a 2nd language, and they try out some idioms, some insults, stuff like that from their own language, but it doesn't really translate well.
Like, maybe they try out "that guy is a rough pube hair!" and it's just so off that it's not insulting, or funny, it's just... meh.
That's what your trolling is to me 
It's like you're an alien from another planet that's trying to go through the motions, but it's all off, we know you're not human.
Maybe you're just too meta. It's like the troll who isn't a troll... but that's the troll.
