Resignations after 0 moves, they're not really wins. You agree?

Hiya. I've encountered quite alot of opponents that resign before any moves have been played. I find this frustrating, if their games history show that they reularly do this.

Although, you get free points from the game which raises your rating, i don't count that as a win. The reason is that I havent played any moves and there is no knowing what the resullt would have been.

Do you agree?

They abort because they want to get a certain color and after a certain number of abortions you can't abort any longer. (So I guess they resign trying to get a certain color then)

Dont worry about your rating, it will stay where it should be.

Ratings are a way of playing people that will challenge you. If you hypothetically had a number of people resign and your rating quickly jumped up. It would soon settle down to your natural ability as you would tend to lose to the stronger players. So-in short- don't worry about it.

I don't care. OTB they would be wins, that's for sure.

fusyon

you have right. A chess player never must resign.

OTB, no one would resign after 0 moves. You'd get too much grieve from your opponent.

Well, it's equivalent to if you don't turn up in time for your game.

jimfrost2000

True, but when playing online you have to choose to play a game. It is wrong IMO to not play just because your black or don't like the opponents rating.

Pulpofeira

Precisely, no one does OTB because there's not abort option there.
