I like to make it as difficult as I can for my opponent to win so I often fight on in a lost position. Finding a move which surprises your opponent and generates some counterplay is good fun. But if the lost position is sterile then I am happy to resign.

I always play on a move or two (at least) after a bad blunder. So that disappointment does not cloud the judgement.

Once again, a very good general rule for resigning.

I usually resign when I begin to feel it is a waste of MY time sitting at the board.
