ive been beat enough times by guys 200 points lesser than me, so i know at my level it behooves me to stay humble,  now i treat everyone with respect, i fear everyone because i can be beat,  I hate to lose but even so i win more when i keep a healthy respect and FEAR of my opponent....

Hey, I expressed almost the exact same idea during a comment on my blog: http://www.chess.com/blog/OldChessDog/a-tale-of-two-chess-games

the anthems being played in the commodore 64 Olympic games.

64 OLYMPICS.  50 YEARS AGO!

Not 1964, Commodore 64.  It was a personal computer in the early 1980's.  The 64 came, iirc, from the 64 KB of RAM it featured.

Great OP. Totally 100% agree with you. I treat everyone with respect and greatly appreciate those who do the same. I've coached chess students those same values for years. Thanks for posting this and thank you for those who added agreements and similar opinions and stories.

The higher you're rated, the less likely your opponent that is sub 200 points lower than you will win.

Yes, that's the whole point of these rating systems.
