Starcraft (and SC BW) was probably one of the last games I obsessively played before chess. Had a few lan parties with it too (and counterstrike which was ok), good memories :)

Speaking of dice-based RPGs, anyone ever play Palladium? I had a brief run with that game at a point where I was getting a little bored with D&D. Good game. Some of the rules, for instance around magic and around hit points, made more sense to me than D&D, and there were some cool character classes (Mind Mage, Summoner, Diabolist, etc.) in addition to the classics.
Starcraft 2 is in private beta and from the replays I've seen it looks very good.
From the comments, Terrans are not quite equal to Protoss or Zerg. A little more balancing to come I guess.
I liked Warcraft three more than starcraft, but I am definitely going to pick up Starcraft two when it comes out.
I like Protoss anyway ^.^

SC sounds like a lot of fun to pick up again, but I better not, I'd let it eat up all my time (again) :) I picked it up one weekend after a few years hiatus, and played about 14 hours on each day.
Not sure what a repetitive stress injury feels like, but that's how my clicking finger felt (even though I used lots of keyboard shortcuts too). After that I uninstalled it to save myself heh.
Speaking of starcraft, it's in some form of open beta, pre-ordering at gamestop nets you a beta key. I know this as my buddy woke me up from a dead sleep today to drive him out to get one.
A friend of mine has the Starcraft two beta and it looks very cool.

I'm always up for a challenge in Warcraft III.... although I haven't played it in ages
I used to play Red Orchestra a lot. Now I only play occasionally. It's still a lot of fun, though. My favorite types of PC games are puzzle games like the old Myst series, 7th Guest, 11th Hour, and the Sherlock Holmes series from Frogwares.

Over the years i have played Diablo 2 LOD,WC3, a little Starcraft(WC3 better) and vairous PS games. My favorite game though, of all time, would have to be Final Fantasy tactics. If you love chess, and great stories, then you will probably like this game. I like JRPGS,RTS, or FPS.
I absolutely hate but am so addicted to Risk. I have the strategy down great but then the diplomacy comes in...
Other than that, FPS video games. Pretty much Halo 3.
Starcraft was the best RTS in my opinion.
Actually, Starcraft Brood War was just the best PC game in general. No need to narrow it down to RTS.
