Sandbagging?

I should have clarified. This is OTB chess, not blitz or bullet.

How can it be OTB if you're reviewing their games and know they lost by time out? Did you actually mean CC games?
Well, I guess I may be using the wrong terminology. I've heard OTB called "Over the Board", or "Online Turn Based". I was referring to multi-day time limit games....

If it's "on-line turn based" and the player is timing out frequently, I'd say he either has a busy calendar or waivering interest in playing here, but I still would not see any reason why he or she would be "sand-bagging." What advantage does the player gain be having a lower rating here? OTB (over the board) a lower rating may enable him to win cash, but here what would he hope to get?

In general, I agree with your statement. But then, I could also say, "what reason does anyone have to talk smack about other players here on this forum", which is done all the time. A person that sandbags has their own reasons.... In golf, usually it probably does have to do with money, as an artificially high handicap can give you strokes.... Suffice it to say that a person that wins and loses a majority of their games by time-out does not have an accurate rating....
What is the significance of a player, who at a reasonably low rating (1200ish), seems to play very well, and in reviewing this players games, a very high percentage of his/her games end (both wins and losses), as a result of either his/hers or his/hers opponent timing out. Am I unnecessarily suspicious?
