I have not been able to post this anywhere else; please excuse me if it is not an appropriate topic.

I received an email to my Chess.com username in which the following appeared %%Webbug%%. I don't know if this indicates a virus, but it lead me to think of saving my games archive to an external harddrive. Is this possible?

You can export the PGNs buddy. Then put them anywhere. Is that what you are asking?

No need to save your chess.com games archive to an external hd. As wsmercutio wrote, it is easy to save pgns, but not necessary. Only if you have any need for using your pgns in some other form, e.g. with a chess engine/gui/database that you have on your home computer.

To save pgns go to your games archive and click on 'download pgn'. If you don't know what that means you definitely don't need it, and there's no 'security' reason why you'd need it.
